Basketball season is in full swing and five teams from three BCS member schools have been ranked in the first Alabama Sports Writer Association’s Basketball Polls.
In Class 6A, the Huffman Vikings (8-3) debut at #2 and Lady Vikings (9-3) are #5 this week. Huffman is one of two BCS sister schools with both the girls and boys ranked in the polls. The other is Wenonah, with the 13 and 2 boys sitting atop the Class 5A poll as the #1 team in the state, while the Lady Dragons (7-4) are #6.
The last BCS team debuting in the initial release are the Lady Rams of Ramsay High School (8-3) who are the #2 ranked team in Class 5A.
