BCS Scholars Named to ASWA All-State Basketball Team

With four teams from the Birmingham City School District advancing to the Final Four, and the Dragons winning the 5A State Championship, you knew there would be a large representation of BCS scholars selected as Alabama Sports Writer Association All-State Basketball Team members!

For the first time, the Lady Rams of Carver High School advanced to the final four! As a result of their outstanding season, sophomore guard Randrea Wright is 2nd team 6A All-State, and head coach Jarvis Wilson was named ASWA 6A Coach of the Year! Huffman High School’s senior guard, Eddie Smith, is a 3rd team 6A ASWA All-State selection.

Ramsay High School was represented on both the girls and boys 5A ASWA All-State teams with senior forward Aniyah Smith as a 3rd team selection and junior guard Kisean Johnson as a 2nd team selection.

The Dragons round out the all-state teams with three selections. The Lady Dragons’ Thaniya Marks, senior forward, is a 2nd team 5A selection, and the champion’s back court mates, guards Cameron Tucker, 1st team, and Justin Minter, 2nd team closeout this stellar list of athletes!
