Huffman’s Cameron Humes 2019 Achievement Award Co-Winner

Twenty-three. The number of regular season wins for the 2018-2019 Huffman Viking Varsity Basketball team, on which senior Cameron Humes played power forward. It is also the number of years that have passed since a Birmingham City Schools scholar-athlete was honored as the state winner of the Bryant-Jordan Achievement Award.

For the third consecutive year, the Huffman Vikings had a regional winner honored at the Bryant-Jordan Scholarship Banquet held at the Sheraton Hotel in Birmingham. Last night, Cameron Humes won the Class 6A Achievement Award, and was named Co-Winner of the 2019 Ken and Betty Joy Blankenship Achievement Award! For only the third time in history, the Birmingham City Schools District has a state winner. Cameron joins Sam Shade (1991 Scholar-Athlete Co-Winner) and Jeremy Howard (1996 Achievement Winner) as a Birmingham City Schools scholar-athlete to receive this honor.

Congratulations Cameron and the Huffman/BCS family! #BCSpride
