BCS High School Weekly Football Review: Week Zero

In the first week of competition for the AHSAA, the Birmingham City High School football teams finished 5 -2.

After a two hour delay, the BCS Kickoff Classic featured two outstanding football contest! The Thundering Herd of Parker was victorious over the Carver Rams in a back and forth offensive showcase, and the Blue Bleeding Rams of Ramsay came from behind to defeat the Minor Tigers 21 – 18. The Wenonah Dragons traveled to Linden twice this weekend to earn the first victory of first year head coach Daniel Flowers. The Woodlawn Colonels put up 44 points in the debut of head coach Jerry Davenport in their win over Sumter Central. The #StangGang at Jackson-Olin won a nail-bitter against Fairfield, and the Huffman Vikings dropped their opener to Bessemer City.

This week Parker and Ramsay are at home, and the rest of the city will be on the road. Get out to a game this week and support OUR Birmingham City Schools scholar-athletes!
