This Friday, November 12th, three Birmingham City Schools continue their quest towards the Super 7 at Protective Stadium in Downtown Birmingham, and the AHSAA Football State Championship crown. In 5A, the A. H. Parker High School Thundering Herd travels to Alexandria, AL to take on Alexandria High School and the Ramsay Rams go across town to battle Center Point High in the round of 16. Parker has advanced to the 2nd round both years under Coach Frank Warren, and Ramsay continues their run of six years advancing past the first round but this is the first under new Head Coach Ronnie Jackson.
Coach Tim Vakakes has lead the Mustangs of P.D. Jackson-Olin to the playoffs for the third time in his nine year stint, but the “Stang Gang” advance to the 2nd Round for the first time since they were lead by Michael Clisby in 1997. The team travels to Mountain Brook High School for a 6A showdown.
