Birmingham City Schools Scholars and Coach Selected to Represent State in Alabama-Mississippi Basketball Classic

The Birmingham City School District’s scholar-athletes and coaches continue to represent their schools and the city at state all star games! Two players have been selected to play in the 31st Alabama-Mississippi Basketball All-Star Classic.  The Carver High School Lady Rams Guard, Randrea Wright and Ramsay High School Rams Forward, KeShawn Murphy, will play in the 2021 All-Star Game on March 12th at the Montgomery Cramton Bowl Multiplex.

In addition to these scholar-athletes, Huffman Boys Basketball Head Coach, Steve Ward, has been selected as one of the two coaches for the Alabama Boys’ team.

AHSAA 2020 Regional Basketball Tournaments

Congratulations to all of our high schools who competed in the sub-regional games this week! As we move into regional play, we have four teams that will represent our district in the various tournaments.
Our 6A schools, Huffman and Carver, will compete Friday, February 14th.
Carver Lady Rams vs. Athens Golden Eagles, 12 noon, at Wallace State Community College in Hanceville, AL
Huffman Vikings vs Albertville High School, 10:30 a.m., at Pete Mathews Coliseum Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, AL
Our 5A teams, are both from Ramsay High School and will compete Saturday, February 15th at the Garrett Coliseum in Montgomery, AL.
Ramsay Lady Rams vs. Charles Henderson, 9:00 a.m.
Ramsay Rams vs. Greenville High School, 10:30 a.m.
We would love to see you in Hanceville, Jacksonville, or Montgomery this weekend cheering on our scholar-athletes!! Tickets are $8, and these venues do have a clear-bag policy in effect!
