The Birmingham City Schools Athletes of the Week for weeks 5 have been announced! The Thundering Herd was well represented this week, and as always, these student-athletes represented our district well in competition and sportsmanship!
We proudly recognize Week 5 Players of the Week:
Volleyball
Offensive Player: Perisha Rowser – Sr. at Parker High School had 5 assist, 9 aces, 2 blocks, and 29 kills
Defensive Player: Deborah Garrett – Sr. at Parker High School had 14 aces, 19 kills, 27 assists, 26 digs, and 4 blocks.
Football
Offensive Player: Jaih Andrews – Jr. at Ramsay High School had 202 all-purpose yards and accounted for 3 scores (2 passing touchdowns).
Defensive Player: LaVonta Bentley – Sr. Jackson-Olin High School accounted for 17 stops including 3 tackles for loss.
